Sergi Roberto turns down Saudi offer — not for 'football reasons' though

Mundo Deportivo report that Saudi side Al Qadsiah made an offer to Sergi Roberto but the midfielder has rejected it.

The Barcelona captain turned Al Qadsiah down not for 'football reasons' though. The main reason is the comfort of his family.

Roberto's wife Coral Simanovich is an Israeli national and the player thinks that she won't be too happy if he moves to an Arab state after the outbreak of the war in Gaza.

So Roberto's future is unclear. His contract with Barcelona expires in the summer and the club has not begun talks over a new deal despite Xavi's insistence that Sergi stays. A MLS move is possible.
