Kessie scores in AFCON final as Ivory Coast win after sacking head coach midway

Ivory Coast are the champions of Africa!

Their story is truly remarkable. The tournament hosts had their former head coach, Jean-Louis Gasset, dismissed right during the competition. Their interim coach, Emerse Fae, has led them to glory.

Franck Kessie scored the equaliser in the final against Nigeria. Sebastian Haller netted the winner late in the game which is also special given that he has recently recovered from testicular cancer.
