Ghana bundled out of AFCON — here's what it means for Barca

Ghana have stumbled out of the Africa Cup of Nations at the group for the second successive time. The perennial underachievers failed to win a game in their adventure in the Ivory Coast after losing one and drawing two of their three group games.

Ghana's dismissal at AFCON could be interesting news for Barca who play Athletic Bilbao later today in a crunch Copa Del Rey quarter-final.

That's because Bilbao's joint top scorer Inaki Williams has reportedly returned to their squad and could face Barcelona with quite some venom brewing inside him.

The 29-year-old would be desperate not to watch two of his favourite teams get knocked out of major competitions in a matter of days.

Barcelona beat Unionistas 3-1 to reach the Copa Del Rey quarter-final. According to Xavi, this competition is among Barca's main objectives this season.

Athletic Club will certainly give Barca a serious contest, particularly if Inaki Williams is cleared to play. Inaki's young brother Nico, who plays for Spain, is also a formidable threat down the wings. The 21-year-old has bagged 10 assists and four goals this season.
