Barcelona had to fight hard to pick up a narrow 3-2 win over Unionistas in their Round of 16 Copa Del Rey clash.
Barcelona radio programme BarCanaletes have seemingly exposed a conversation that happened between Xavi and Robert Lewandowski after the game.
Following full-time, the Polish forward apparently told the gaffer: “With the Copa del Rey being the only title more likely to be won, you should have put out a stronger line-up!” The reply from Xavi to this was: “This was analysed with the staff, the line-up was the right one.”
To this, an unnamed Barca player in the dressing room commented: “It's not the first time you've analysed something wrong..”
Deco apparently heard this entire conversation and did not agree with Xavi’s statement, seemingly siding with the players in feeling that a stronger team should’ve been played.
Despite some tensions around the club, Xavi got a major boost from his players – who showed great character to dig out the 4-2 win over Real Betis at the weekend.
