'You talk when you are here, not when you are gone': Al-Khelaifi slams Messi for 'not respecting' PSG

Lionel Messi left PSG over six months ago, but nevertheless continues to be a major talking point in France.

Despite winning two league titles during his two seasons at Parc des Princes, the Argentine faced a lot of criticism from the PSG ultras, who were unhappy with the team's Champions League performance.

That contributed largely to Leo's decision not to extend his PSG deal and leave for Inter Miami on a free transfer.

Following his move to MLS, Messi publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with how the club treated him and noted a lack of recognition for winning the World Cup.

In response, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi accused Messi of a lack of respect for the club.

"You talk when you are here, not when you are gone. I have great respect for Messi, but if someone wants to talk badly about Paris Saint-Germain after his departure, it’s not good.

"That's not respect. He's not a bad guy, but I don't like that. That's not just for him, but for everyone."

Interestingly, his former teammate Kylian Mbappe presented a different viewpoint, implying that it was Messi, who haven't received the recognition and respect he deserved during his tenure at the club.
