Nico may win La Liga this season – not at Barca

Girona have identified Nico as their priority January target, reports Nil Sola.

The former Barcelona midfielder was wanted by Michel already last summer. It seems like Porto will agree on the move as the 22-year-old has fallen out of favour at their club.

Barca can buy Nico back for €30m. They will also receive some fee if the La Masia graduate is sold.

If Nico joins Girona, he could win La Liga already this season. Michel's side are currently 2nd in the league, level on points with Real Madrid and 10 points ahead of Barcelona.

Nico played under Xavi, making 26 appearances and recording 3 goal contributions. He spent last season on loan at Valencia before leaving Barcelona for €8.4m in July.
