It's been a while since we've heard about Philippe Coutinho for the last time.
The Brazilian had some decent spells under Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa, but even there, his performances eventually turned to just mediocre.
The 31-year-old was apparently out of Unai Emery's plans for the current season, so Aston Villa decided to loan him out... to Qatari side Al Duhail. They gave him the no. 9, so you can imagine how big of a move it was for their club.
The problem is Philippe doesn't always make the squad. He has played just 56 per cent of Al Duhail's league matches in the starting eleven, picking up 3 injuries this season already.
When he's on the pitch, he usually makes the difference. Coutinho scored 2 goals and delivered one assist in 2 matches against Al Nassr where Cristiano Ronaldo plays. But his availability is the biggest problem.
It's hard to imagine Coutinho go back to Aston Villa at the end of the season. He will most likely be sold for good, perhaps to one of the Brazilian top-tier clubs. Last summer, Corinthians reportedly inquired about his situation.
