Barcelona have five players lying on their treatment table — Gavi, Pedri, Ter Stegen, Inigo Martinez and Marcos Alonso will not resume training with the squad until sometime in 2024.
Let's remind you of when the dates each of those five players are expected back in training.
Ter Stegen. February 1, 2024.
Barcelona are hoping that their reliable goalkeeper will be back by the start of February. The German goalie is recovering from back surgery following an injury he picked up in November.
Inigo Martinez. January 10, 2024.
The big defender is still recovering from a muscle problem he picked up before the game against Atletico Madrid earlier in December. The expectation is that he comes back before the game against Osasuna.
Pedri. January 15.
The midfielder's injury is more serious than first announced. Pedri is now likely to miss the Spanish Supercopa next month as Barca are not expected to risk him.
Marcos Alonso. February 20th.
It's not clear how long Alonso will take to recover from his back problems. The expectation is that he recovers on or before Barca's Champions League round of 16 clash against Napoli.
Gavi. September 2024.
Gavi's season is over. The midfielder will not start the 2024/25 season with Barcelona after suffering an ACL injury.
