Earlier this month, Barcelona president Joan Laporta said the club will sign a midfielder to compensate for the season-ending injury suffered by Gavi.
According to TV3, Barca Sporting Director Deco has already shortlisted four names for the role.

Thiago Alcantara. The former Barca midfielder could return to kickstart his season in Spain after a tough run with injuries in England. Thiago will be a free agent in June but Barca could get him now if he insists on leaving.
Jorginho. The Italian warms the bench at Arsenal but he's a quality defensive midfield option and a proven winner having won the Champions League and Euros as a key player for his teams. Jorginho's contract expires next year which opens the door for him to leave in January.
Adrien Rabiot. The Frenchman has been on the radar of many top clubs around Europe with his contract due to expire in June. With Juve dragging their feet on offering him a new deal, Barca may just have an opportunity to nip in and get a top-class midfielder.
Guido Rodríguez.The Argentine midfielder has been impressing at Real Betis this season with a goal and an assist in 19 appearances. Besides Thiago, he's the only one on this list with proven La Liga experience. Barca could get him cheaply considering he's also in the last six months of his contract.
