Romano names Man City and one other Premier League club that Barca will have to battle for Echeverri

FC Barcelona are keen on signing talented Argentinian attacking midfielder Claudio Echeverri from River Plate.

The 17-year-old has just half a year left on his River Plate contract and has indicated that he will leave after it expires.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City are pushing to sign Echeverri and have been in contact with the player and the club's side.

Another club, Romano reports, that are interested are Chelsea. With backing from big spenders Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, they could be another club Barca will have to fend off for Echeverri's signature.

Barca are currently struggling with FFP issues, which are preventing a deal for the player to go through.
