Xavi reveals if Barca will go for new goalkeeper in January

"Despite Ter Stegen's injury, we will not look for any replacement. We fully trust Inaki Pena and the other available goalkeepers we have," Xavi has said.

"We believe Ter Stegen will recover soon," the Barca boss added.

Earlier, it was suggested that Barca would go for a high-profile goalkeeper in January, with free agent David de Gea listed as a possible option. However, it seems like the club will save some funds instead and strengthen a different position.

Ter Stegen is going to miss up to 3 months after undergoing back surgery. Inaki Pena has done quite well in his absence – he was among Barca's standout players against both Porto and Atletico Madrid.
