Despite the current agreement with the club until 2025, the Spanish media are actively speculating about Xavi's resignation in case the team fails to meet two main objective for the season - defending the La Liga crown and reaching the Champions League quarter-final stage.
In case Xavi fails to achieve this feat, the club board will have to find his successor. And, according to Jose Alvarez of El Chiringuito, club legend Rafa Marquez is considered a strong candidate to take over at the club, especially since the board holds him in high regard and a lot of youngsters have worked under him already.
The Mexican specialist is currently in charge of Barca's youth team. His contract will expire next summer.
But Xavi's sacking in June is a rather unlikely scenario, wouldn't you agree?
