Speaking on Rio Ferdinand's podcast Vibe with FIVE, ex-Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng has opened up on his short spell at Barcelona.
The player claimed that there was a time when Lionel Messi made it clear he actually cares about the rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.
"He [Messi] is the captain but doesn't speak. He doesn't need to speak because he's gonna speak on the pitch. In the dressing room he spoke to one person maybe.
"We spoke one time in the shower because he asked if it's difficult to score in Italy - because Ronaldo was there at that time, and he asked me 'Would I score a lot of goals? Is it difficult there?'.There you could see the rivalry [between them] a little bit.
"I said yeah, it's more difficult because it's more important in Italy to keep the number zero than to score and he scored every game for three years."
