'I was lucky to win everything': Messi names 3 trophies he rates above Ballon d'Or

"The Ballon d'Or is a beautiful honour, but I was lucky to win everything: the Champions League, league titles, Copa America, and World Cup. These are the important trophies [than the Ballon d'Or]," Lionel Messi said in his interview.

Regardless of what Messi says, he's still going to win the Ballon d'Or later in October following his outstanding performance at the last World Cup.

Messi has already won seven Ballon d'Or awards during his illustrious career – the most of any player in history.

He may go one further and win it a ninth time if he leads Argentina to another World Cup title in 2026.
