Will Leo Messi play at 2026 World Cup? Argentina FA president answers

"I imagine he [Lionel Messi] will be at the next World Cup, and I would like him to be.

"I see him there playing in the position he wants to play because he can really do it.

"It will depend on what he wants, but without a doubt I dream of him playing," the Argentina FA president Claudio Tapia told the press.

Earlier, the Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni said that he would gladly welcome Leo at the next World Cup.

It's possible, however, that the 2024 Copa America will be his last international tournament.

The 2026 Mundial is in 2 years and 9 months from now - Messi will be turning 39 by that time. But just like Tapia, we would all love to see him there.
