Xavi has one odd request for Barca board – it has to do with Cancelo (reliability: 5 stars)

Xavi wants Joao Cancelo to be present at Barca's training session on Thursday, August 31, reports Gerard Romero.

It's quite a strange request since Barcelona still haven't signed the Portuguese and it's only going to happen in the final hours of the summer transfer window that shuts late on September 1.

Perhaps Xavi simply wants Barca to accelerate the signing of the right-back, so that he would be available for the away La Liga clash against Osasuna on Sunday, September 2.

Barcelona can't sign the 29-year-old at the moment. They are waiting for the upcoming departures, the 'lever' money or the bank guarantee that would allow the club to receive €20m immediately.

Joao Cancelo is a complete wing-back who can play both on the right and on the left. The Portuguese is known for his playmaking qualities.
