Barcelona's pre-season clash against Juventus was just hours away when things took an unexpected turn.

The Catalans were forced to cancel the game due to the stomach infection several players suffered from.

A total of 12 players and 3 coaching staff members caught the stomach bug, Javi Miguel claims.

The likes of Oriol Romeu, Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde and Eric Garcia are identified among the affected.

It's not yet clear who was the so-called patient zero but the infection seemingly spread within the squad, eventually forcing the club to call off the match.

The medical staff assume 48 hours will be enough to recover.

As for the Juve friendly, it's unlikely to be played later on in the pre-season.
