Ilkay Gundogan played alongside Robert Lewandowski at Borussia Dortmund from 2011/12 to 2013/14 – back when Jurgen Klopp created the team that was actually capable of beating Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title.

The two made 77 appearances alongside each other in which they linked up for one goal – away against Hoffenheim in 2012.

It's worth a mention that Gundogan usually played as a no. 6 back then – it was long ago before he became a prolific midfielder with Manchester City.

Gundogan and Lewandowski won the Bundesliga (2011/12), the German Cup (2011/12) and the German Super Cup (2013/14) together.

And now they reunite 9 years later. Let's hope they will add some cups to their trophy cabinets in the coming years.
