Was Ansu Fati actually good in Nations League final? Answered

Ansu Fati is generally being praised for his off-the-bench performance against Croatia in the Nations League final.

Was he really good? Let's see.

Despite receiving a relatively low 6.3 rating on SofaScore, there was more to the 20-year-old's showing last night.

1. He was quite dangerous on the ball. Having entered the pitch in the 66th minute, the forward instantly freshened the left half-wing with his tricky dribbles and smart body movements.

2. He was good in the buildup. Ansu often dropped deeper to develop his team's attacks. He showed some timely passing and clever positioning despite not receiving the ball sometimes.

3. He deserved a goal. One of Spain's biggest chances came when the Barca attacker found himself some 6-7 metres in front of goal. He managed a great shot as Croatia goalkeeper was outplayed, but one of their defenders came up with a goal-line clearance.

Ansu Fati actually deserves some praise for his latest outing. Let's see if he manages to carry this into the preseason.

Spain beat Croatia on penalties following the 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
