Barcelona may join Super League 'organised by Saudi Arabia'

Barcelona may be part of the Super League organised by Saudi Arabia, via Diario Sport.

This could happen if the Catalans would be punished by UEFA for their involvement in the notorious Negreira case which has to do with alleged referee payments.

Juventus, one of the few European Super League founders, could also face a punishment for their financial breach. In this case, Saudi Arabia would invite them to join the Super League as well.

UEFA 'would be scared' to see big European clubs being part of the Saudi Arabian project, it is noted.

For Barcelona - as well as some other struggling giants - this could be a great opportunity to finally solve their financial crisis and become competitive in the long term.

After missing out on Leo Messi's signature, Saudi Arabia explore other ways to make their football competition the most powerful in the world. They have already lured some big players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, with the signings of N'Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves soon to be sealed.
