When asked about how he feels about sporting director Mateu Alemany's decision to stay at 

 said: “He has been very clear and has told us that he wants to be here.

“(He’s told us) that Barça is great and that he wanted to come back. He is a sensational worker, he has put a lot of order in the club.”

Barca's transfer business since Alemany became sporting director has been absolutely top-notch. Laporta would've hated the idea of losing him. 

Reports say the Barca president has already accepted Alemany's decision to stay. Why wouldn't he?

Alemany gets to continue the good work he's been doing at Barca. He also gets to keep his seat at the table of one of the best clubs in the world today. What more could he ask for?

According to Gerard Romero, Alemany changed his mind about leaving after visiting Aston Villa facilities in Birmingham. Nothing compares to Barca eh?

The Brazilian was on the verge of becoming one of the most powerful men at Barca with Alemany's departure. However, the change of plans doesn't leave him hanging out to dry. 

According to Romero and other credible sources, Jordi Cruyff's exit means there's still one big role to be filled and Deco has been told he will be the man to do it. 

We can only say that Cruyff is a loser if his decision to leave was a knee-jerk reaction to Alemany leaving. 

If we're overthinking it, we could say Alemany knew all along that he wasn't going anywhere so he feigned to leave to allow some big names to follow his cue. And of course, Cruyff fell for that. That would be 3-D chess from Alemany, in a hypothetical situation. 

The more reasonable rationale is that Cruyff is leaving to pursue a dream to become a sporting director or coach elsewhere. Even at that, Barca are a big club and anywhere else will almost certainly be a downgrade.

Meaning Alemany’s initial announcements and reasons behind his resignation has nothing to do with what was previously published here.

It suspect it has something to do with Jordi Cruyff. There’s a hidden something we are not well informed of.

Anyway I’m glad he’s staying beyond this season. We have unfinished businesses to do.
