What Simeone told Pep about Busquets back a decade ago - kind of has to do with Messi

Sergio Busquets is nearing the final few games in his Barcelona career as he’s reportedly decided to leave at the end of the season.

The Spaniard has been praised by a lot of prominent personalities over the years. But one particular quote from Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone shows how highly he’s respected.

Simeone said in 2018, as quoted by Sport: “Busquets is the best footballer that Barcelona have to strike a balance

“I met with Guardiola when he was coaching Barca and I told him that the best footballer he had was Busquets.”

While this might sting for Lionel Messi fans, it only goes to show how highly opposition managers value the quality of Busquets and his contribution for Barcelona.
