Christian Atsu found dead in Turkey earthquake. He called Messi '8th wonder of the world'

Former Ghana international Christian Atsu has tragically lost his life in an earthquake in Turkey, his agent confirms.

The player spent days under the rubble. On Saturday, his body was found.

Atsu's final touch of the ball took place on February 5 when he scored an impressive goal from a direct free kick in the 97th minute. This was the match winner as his Hatayspor side beat Kasimpasa 1-0.

Previously, the forward played for Chelsea, Newcastle United, Porto, Everton, Vitesse and some other European sides. He also made 65 appearances for Ghana, scoring 9 goals.

After Argentina won the World Cup, Atsu called Lionel Messi 'the 8th wonder of the world'.
