Why hasn't Ansu Fati played a single minute at World Cup? Answered

Ansu Fati is yet to make his World Cup debut with Spain.

What's the problem? Why doesn't Luis Enrique sub him on?

1. Ansu is losing competition against Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig attacker is currently in some amazing form. He scored a gorgeous opener against Costa Rica, assisted one of the other 6 goals and came close to bagging a stunner against Germany. Besides, Olmo often drops deeper and adds the necessary dynamics to the team's midfield.

2. There is no place for him in the centre-forward position either. Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres seem more well-suited to playing there under Luis Enrique – they are the priority options in the striker position.

3. Unlike the other attackers, he lacked game practice all season. Despite multiple sources claiming that Ansu is fully fit, Luis Enrique still seems concerned about the 20-year-old's ability to receive much game time – and that's what the Spain boss has said several times.

Who knows, maybe we'll see Fati in action against Japan – but that is more likely to happen after the positive result will be sealed.
