'Nothing surprises me now': Alba breaks silence on Barca's efforts to sell him

"In my thoughts, I have always wanted to be at Barcelona. I see myself good enough to be here for the years that remain on my contract [until 2024]," Jordi Alba has said at an Adidas event, per Diario Sport.

"(...) I have shown a lot of commitment to the club, teammates, and in the end, the decision is up to the club. They are what they are and they have their own interests. I will never get into that issue. My commitment is 100 per cent and that's it. I'd like to tell you more but I'm not going to go into that subject.

"It's not about whether it seems fair or not. The situation is what it is, in the end, I think everyone acts as they want. I wanted to stay.

"I am a man who likes talking face to face. Not everyone likes it, but I am born this way. I think things can be done better, but nothing surprises me with everything I've done in football," the player concluded.

Barcelona reached an agreement to ship Jordi Alba off to Inter Milan in the last few days of the summer transfer campaign. However, the 33-year-old refused to join the Serie A side.

Alba was said to be frustrated with his current club for negotiating with other clubs without his consent.
