OFFICIAL: Alexia Putellas wins UEFA Women's Player of the Year

 has been named the UEFA Women's Player of the Year for 2022. 

Putellas registered 42 goals and 21 assists across the 2021/22 season, securing the Women's Champions League in the process.

She is the first female football player to win this award for two years in a row.

Following the friendly match against Italy, 

 has become the first-ever player to reach 100 games for the Spanish Women's team.

She is followed by the former Barcelona player Jennifer Hermoso who has 91 caps. Alexia is also the 6th best scorer in their history with 27 goals, that is despite her playing as a midfielder.

With Putellas being only 28 years old, she is likely to bag many more national team call-ups in the future.

I agree its a tough group but im optimistic that we can go on to the knockout stage. Will hopefully be really good games against Bayern München and Inter Milan. Viktoria Plzen i dont really know anything about but i think Barca have a good chance to win both games. With all the new signings i feel good about the season.

Yeah i know. I think Barca can do it again this season. Will be 4 tough games against Bayern München and Inter Milan but i belive in the team and that Barca go far in CL. Hopefully they can bring the CL trophy back home again.

Absolutely Zawiuz, we are positive, but my only fear is that the chemistry between our players is not 100% yet because we have so many nee players in the first team dynamics.

I hope so as well. Rayo game was a setback but Sociedad game was a step forward. Manchester City game was also good.
To me the team looks to be comming together more and more. I belive in the team and that they will show Barca is back again.

Congratulations to Putellas...That was well deserved 👏🏻👏🏻             For the male team, it is time to make a statement in Europe again and start clearing the awards like we used to......Group C couldn't have been more challenging as we wanted.

We got teams like Inter Millan who is a good test any day and also a score to settle with Bayern Munich

I hope we don't underrate anyone in the group (Vitoria Plzen) and treat every match like it's a final.

Really gon' be an interesting season because the group stage is gon' be so tasty🍗
