On Monday, Peru were defeated 5-4 on penalties by Australia to secure the last World Cup spot from America.
Peru came into the game as strong favourites, with the South Americans ranked 22 in the world - plus they finished a respectable 5th in South America World Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, Australia are ranked 42nd in the world.
Peru's defeat is now being used to slander Messi on Twitter as some fans don't believe South American teams are as strong as they seem.
