Even if there's a release clause of €75m in place, the commission fees and bonuses would likely increase the total cost to this figure.

There are just 12 players who signed for their new clubs for €100m+. It's fair to say that few of them have actually worked out.

Now let's divide all of these transfers into three groups: successful, not bad and poor.

Successful: Kylian Mbappe.

Not bad: Neymar, Antoine Griezmann, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale.

Poor: Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Joao Felix, Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba.

It's too early to judge the Grealish and Lukaku moves but they are far from being successful as things stand.

The only €100m+ move that actually paid off is Kylian Mbappe's switch from Monaco to PSG. The Parisians received 152 goals and over 60 assists in 3.5 years in exchange for €145m. Sounds like a successful deal.

Higher hopes were pinned on players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Gareth Bale, which is why we can't brand them successful.

Most of the players who moved for €100m+ are flops. Given that there are three Barca players on this list, the club should think carefully of whether to spend such a hefty fee on Haaland.
