France Football to hand out 2 Ballons d'Or in 2021, ceremony date revealed: L'Equipe

The award ceremony of the 2021 Ballon d'Or will take place in Paris on December 5, according to French publication L'Equipe.

Moreover, France Football are set to hand out two prizes on that date in the French capital for the first time in the award's history.

The thing is that the 2020 Ballon d'Or was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2019/20 season, however, was finished well after FF's decision with Robert Lewandowski leading Bayern Munich to victories in Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League with 55 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Apparently, it'll be the Poland international who gets the 2020 edition of the award in December.

As for this year's prize, Lionel Messi is believed to be the favourite to claim it after winning the 2021 Copa America - his first-ever major trophy with Argentina.
