'The most important thing is to keep Messi': Koeman on possible Griezmann exit

"What if Griezmann and others leave? Well, the most important thing is to keep Messi," Ronald Koeman has told the media.

"We are worried about the Messi situation and it is normal. I spoke to the president and he is confident that we will be able to register him. Leo is going to stay for the next few years," the Dutchman said.

As for Griezmann, Koeman added: "Griezmann is very important for me. He has proven his quality. I count on all players we have but if there have to be changes, we will need to deal with that."

Despite the Frenchman's key role at Barca, multiple sources don't rule out his departure this summer. Among possible destinations, Manchester City, PSG, Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan are mentioned.

Leo Messi, meanwhile, has reportedly agreed on accepting a 50%+ pay cut but Barcelona can't register him yet as they need to reduce the wage bill.
