Argentina defeated Bolivia 4-1 in their final 2021 Copa America group stage on Monday night.

Lionel Messi scored twice and provided one assist on that night at Arena Pantanal.

The 34-year-old's first strike came from the penalty spot and Bolivia goalkeeper Carlos Lampe apparently knew he had no chance to stop Leo from scoring.

The pair were spotted smiling at each other before Messi fired the ball past Lampe to make it 2-0 for the Albiceleste.

By starting against Bolivia, the Barcelona captain broke Javier Mascherano's record for most Argentina caps in history - 147. Messi now has one more appearance than his former Barca teammate.
