Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutchman had little team success in Eredivisie and at Newcastle before he eventually turned into one of Liverpool's key men in midfield – this has brought him the Champions League and the Premier League trophies.
Signing for Barcelona is a great opportunity for the 29-year-old to add some more pieces of silverware in the twilight of his career.
Ronald Koeman
Wijnaldum has been one of the Netherlands' greatest goal contributors under Ronald Koeman: 10 goals and 3 assists since October 2018.
What's really interesting about the possible move is that Koeman prefers to use Gini behind the frontline while at Liverpool he plays as a defensive midfielder. Both roles seem to be suiting him well, yet the player is very keen on contributing to his teams' attacking efforts.
Frenkie de Jong
Frenkie has always singled out Sergio Busquets as the one who has helped him adapt to living in Barcelona. Wijnaldum's arrival can only mean that the 23-year-old will feel even better both on and off the pitch.
Forwards
Over the past few years, Gini has drastically improved his play in terms of ball control and passing it to the final third.
Just look at this impressive (and fresh!) stat.
Losers
Barca's youngsters
With Wijnaldum in, the likes of Riqui Puig, Carles Alena and Pedri are likely to receive less game time. Only an intense rotation from Koeman can equal all the parties involved.
Fans
The supporters are understandably frustrated that Barca continue to sign 'old' players one by one. Wijnaldum turns 30 already in November and, if no one is sold, he'll become the 9th player over 30 in the senior squad.
Besides, it's a little bit awkward for Barca to sign a player whose career highlights include the 4-0 comeback.
