"Ernesto Valverde made me feel slighted. He said he was going to play me but he didn't. He said he was going to give me a chance but he didn't. Everything was fine when Luis Enrique was there," Arda Turan has told beIN Sports Turkey.
"With Valverde, I felt insignificant and decided to leave. No one, including Valverde, has forced me out of Barcelona. I have made the decision to leave."
Ernesto took over the Catalans ahead of the 2017/18 season with Turan already in the squad.
However, during the first half of the season, the Turkey international didn't make a single appearance and he was loaned out to Istanbul Basaksehir in January 2018.
The 33-year-old played for two and a half seasons at Barcelona, registering 55 matches, 15 goals and 11 assists.
