Barcelona and Juventus said to contemplate Rugani-Todibo swap deal

Turin-based source Tuttosport shed some light on the transfer negotiations between Juventus and Barcelona with more names appearing on the Catalan club's radar.

The Italian daily claim Barca have reignited their interest in Daniele Rugani while the Bianconeri wouldn't mind letting him leave for one of Blaugrana stars.

They believe the sides could consider a Rugani-Todibo swap deal, as well as the highly anticipated Arthur-Pjanic exchange.

Tuttosport add that Rugani has long been on Barcelona's radar. The Catalans tried to land him last winter when Samuel Umtiti suffered a serious knee injury. Juventus were willing to part ways with the centre-back as well.

Rugani is the Empoli academy graduate. He has been at Juventus since 2012 but spent several seasons on loan.

The 25-year-old is no longer a regular player at Juventus. Last season, the Italian managed two goals in 20 matches. This term, Rugani has only made seven appearances in all competitions.

Rugani is a high-profile centre-back with a strong right foot. Apparently, he could be considered as Gerard Pique's potential replacement.

As for Todibo, he is currently loaned out to Schalke who are unlikely to sign him on a permanent basis. That's why Barca consider using him as part of the swap deal this summer.

Earlier, it's been reported that Todibo could be the key to Miralem Pjanic's potential transfer should Arthur ultimately refuse to leave Barca.
