John Terry was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, becoming the fifth Chelsea player to receive the recognition.
Jose Mourinho recorded a video message for the retired defender to congratulate him on being included in the list of the competition's legends.
"Premier League Hall of Fame, John Terry, has to be. And now it is," the Portuguese tactician said.
"I believe that for your kids it's something really fantastic. For me as one of the guys that had the privilege to work with you for about six seasons, I'm very happy and proud. You deserve it, your career was amazing, I'm so happy for you and so, so proud of your achievement.
"Kisses mate."
Terry broke down in tears after watching the message. "Wow," he said. "It's quite emotional. Sorry.
"I think it's... I think I owe him, you know, a huge amount for my career and the kind of direction it went in.
"He still frightens me to death, when he facetimes me out of the blue and stuff like that. But I've got so much respect for him for what he's done for me and Chelsea. Chelsea means everything to me.
"So yeah. Very emotional."
