'How is this planned better?': Chelsea fan questions the wisdom of Benjamin Sesko interest

According to several sources, Chelsea are among the sides who will be looking to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko who has a €50m release clause and 'relatively low' salary demands.

The 20-year-old Slovenia international boasts a solid record in the Bundesliga, scoring a goal every 62 minutes on the pitch, mostly as an impact sub.

Chelsea fan CFC Central on Twitter argues that while Sesko might be a good fit for the team in a few years, he would be just another raw player in that position this year.

CFC Central tweets: "I've watched Sesko very closely since last season. Despite being raw and having a few rough edges, his ceiling is tremendous.

"However, I do question the wisdom of spending on another young CF when your first one has visibly benefitted from playing week in, week out all season.

"I still don't know what the plan is with Datro Fofana & Washington. Or how the recruitment team balances Lavia, Ugochukwu, Santos behind a ₤200m pivot.

"There is no question they erred by buying an overpriced Lavia and sending Santos on a botched loan. How is this planned better?

"Poch (irrespective of whether he's here in summer) has bemoaned a lack of leaders/height. Been evident to a lot of us too.

"With financial constraints, is there wisdom in getting an older 9 who doesn't hinder Nico's game time? Who is the Giroud, the Joselu in the current market?

"I really like Sesko. I think he's a better bet and value for money compared to say, an Osimhen. If there's a planned pathway, sure get him. He's very good in the air, fits the current system/setup too. It's the right player, but I don't know if it's the right time."
