Like so many times this season, Chelsea find a way to make things harder for themselves. This time, they coasted against Sheffield United after scoring an early goal and were punished for that even before the usual half-time slump.
It's even more concerning as Djordje Petrovic allowed a really poor goal from a tight angle — and the severe downturn in the Serb's form has been a worrying trend in recent games.
Now, some Chelsea fans go as far as suggesting that Petrovic may not be good enough to be a starter for the Blues. The honeymoon is well and truly over.
CFC Central: "Petrovic with another howler, this time at the near post. Conceding a goal to a side at the bottom, with 28 in 30 before this. Unforgivable."
Felix: "2nd Petrovic mistake in 2 games… we are incapable of keeping a clean sheet"
Pys: "Petrovic 3 howlers recently, time to bring Sanchez back in. Cucurella caught defensively again, back to square 1."
Chels HQ: "Petrovic better not get too comfortable, mistakes creeping into his game lately."
Alex Goldberg: "Petrovic was bad for the goal & overall he’s been poor lately. If he ends up not being good enough, shall be it."
CFCDaily: "Petrovic ain’t it at all."
