Mauricio Pochettino has praised Chelsea's character shown in the 3-2 win over Leeds United, but asked for time to win the first trophy with this young squad.
After the match, he told ITV: "Big relief. To score at the end was good because the team was amazing effort on Sunday. Three days after, it was a really tough game. So happy to score and move on. Saturday we have a game vs Brentford that will be tough.
"It’s difficult. After seven-eight months to translate the same ideas, the time, it’s a new team. You know very well football. It’s all about time and balance to build a team. Then they can perform under your philosophy.
"We cannot match the history of Chelsea. We need time to gel. This is not a magic cream. In the last four weeks, we are doing a fantastic job. The team is fighting and starting to behave as a team."
Chelsea have been able to recover well from the Carabao Cup final loss to move onto the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they'll host Leicester City.
