Fabrizio Romano has put an end to Chelsea's hopes of securing a cut-price deal for Paulo Dybala in the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite the buzz around rumours linking Chelsea with Dybala, Romano told Caught Offside that he heard nothing about any efforts to sign the player.
Dybala, who has been connected with a move out of Italy, seemed more accessible due to his release clause. While Chelsea have been keen on strengthening their attack in the winter transfer window, Romano now asserts that a deal with Dybala is unlikely, debunking recent transfer reports.
He said: "Despite rumours about Chelsea, I see Dybala staying at Roma as things stand. I have no updates, there’s nothing happening as of now and his release clause will expire in four days…so, it looks difficult and unlikely."
