Chelsea kick-started 2024 in perfect fashion with a dominant 4-0 thrashing of Preston North End in the FA Cup fourth round.
Despite not being able to get a grip of the game in the first half, the Blues came out roaring in the second half to put on a powerful display.
Malo Gusto was arguably the best player on the pitch, picking up the assist for Armando Broja’s opening goal and creating multiple big chances.
Raheem Sterling was also one of the best players on the pitch, scoring a beautiful free-kick and also assisting Enzo Fernandez’s strike.
Both Enzo and Moises Caicedo had dominant outings, controlling the game perfectly and moving the ball forward nicely. Fernandez also created three chances and won 5/7 duels, while Caicedo recovered possession five times and had a 93% passing accuracy.
Mauricio Pochettino would’ve probably been happy with his team’s display and will want them to maintain this consistency going forward.
