After the Preston North End game, Mauricio Pochettino was directly asked if Chelsea have any interest in signing ex-Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson – who wants to leave Al-Ettifaq.
He replied: “To be honest we didn't talk about names. At the moment we are not talking about bringing players. I saw Behdad [Eghbali], with Paul [Winstanley] and Laurence [Stewart]. I think we are going to have a chat tomorrow.
“We didn't talk about names or players. For now, we are focusing on players like Andrey Santos.”
While Pochettino doesn’t directly deny any interest in Henderson, Chelsea are unlikely to sign a player of his name for the current project that focuses on young players.
The Blues could actually end up retaining Santos into their first-team squad for the remainder of the campaign to be backup to regular starters like Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher.
