Mauricio Pochettino was asked about the Club World Cup. The tournament will be changed from its current format to a different one and Chelsea will participate in it in 2025.
The Blues head coach replied, as quoted by the Guardian: "2025? I need to see my contract. If the owner of Chelsea extends my contract, I will maybe answer better…"
Poch was then asked about Kendry Paez, the 16-year-old Chelsea signed in the summer who's been absolutely on fire in Ecuador this season.
“As I said for the [Club] World Cup. I have a long wait until I see him here!” Poch said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“Of course, I know him. He is playing in the Ecuador national team. He was the youngest to make his debut. I follow the national teams, I follow them in South America, he is our player and I know him very well. He is a great talent.”
The Argentine's contract expires in 2025 and Chelsea have an option for a further year.
