Giorgio Chiellini names Chelsea icon as his hardest opponent — he scored 3 out of 4 times

Giorgio Chiellini could be one of the best centre-backs of his generation, but handling Didier Drogba proved too much even for him.

In a conversation with the AwayDays YouTube channel, the former Juventus and Italy stalwart asked about the player who was his toughest opponent ever. Drogba came up first.

"Drogba was unmarkable, so big, so fast, so technical. A really good player," Chiellini said.

According to Transfermarkt, Drogba and Chiellini faced each other four times in the Champions League, including two games with Didier in a Chelsea shirt.

Chiellini's Juventus side won none of them, while Drogba scored in both games for the Blues, as well as in one of the two games for Galatasaray.
