Romeo Lavia signs for Chelsea

Romeo Lavia is a Chelsea player, the club have confirmed in a statement on their official website.

The 19-year-old has signed a long-term deal with The Blues, who will pay Southampton £53m and £5m in add-ons.

The Belgian began his career with Anderlecht before moving to Man City in 2020. He made two competitive appearances under Pep before joining Southampton on a £10.5m fee.

Lavia featured in 34 games for the Saints, impressing in the Premier League despite the team going down to the relegation zone. Chelsea beat Liverpool for Romeo's signature in an exciting transfer race.
