Liverpool attempt Lavia hijack, try to outbid Chelsea (reliability: 5 stars)

Liverpool keep trying to sign Romeo Lavia despite the odds going in Chelsea's favour.

According to the Guardian, the Reds have submitted a £60m bid to sign the midfielder, which Southampton immediately accepted. Chelsea's offer is £55m.

The Secret Scout reports that the Blues either have to match Liverpool's offer or end the Lavia pursuit.

Notably, the Belgian himself prefers a move to Chelsea so the Reds will have to persuade him to choose them.
