Marc Cucurella was signed last summer for a big fee of £65 million from Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he hasn't made a strong impact yet. Last season, he played a lot, but his chances in the first-team were mostly because Ben Chilwell was injured.
While for Ben Chilwell, Cucurella's exit won't change a lot, players like Lewis Hall (if he stays) and Ian Maatsen will benefit from the departure of the Spaniard.
Ian Maatsen shows versatility to play out of position (Left wing, Right wing). He also made it clear that he wants to work more when he returned early from international duty to start preseason with Chelsea even after being given more time off.
During PL Summer Series he was one of the standout performers, with 2 goals scored and 1 assist. With such persistence, he can even be the starter for Chelsea as a left-back.
For Lewis Hall, Cucurella's exit can also be beneficial, even considering the potential loan to Crystal Palace of the young English player. If we look at the new Chelsea model, it is interested in young stars for the future.
So, potentially Hall will have a good chance to have a lot of playing time when he comes back to Chelsea.
