Chelsea has secured the signing of Nicolas Jackson who hails from Gambia but represents Senegal at the international level.
The Blues have agreed to pay £30 million to Villarreal for the young talent, who is expected to provide a significant goal threat. Known for his impressive skills, Jackson has earned the nickname "Next Neymar" in his home country.
A combination of his quick feet and exceptional dribbling abilities made him a highly sought-after player. During the 2020-21 season, Jackson had a loan spell at second-division club Mirandes, where he scored his first professional goal in a draw against CD Castellón.
Despite playing only 16 times, he made an impact and caught the attention of Villarreal, who moved him to their reserve team. In the 2022-23 season, Jackson's talent shone through as he contributed an astonishing 18 goal involvements in La Liga.
Jackson could have moved to Premier League earlier, a potential Bournemouth signing fell through due to a failed medical examination. This turned out to be Villarreal's gain as Jackson finished the season in excellent form, scoring nine goals in eight matches and helping his team secure a spot in the Europa League.
