Group E could've contained the biggest upset at the World Cup so far. After 70 minutes in both games of the final round of the group stage, Japan and Costa Rica were leaving Spain and Germany out of the Round of 16.
At that moment, however, Kai Havertz stepped up. The German forward who had come off the bench scored a brace and helped his country defeat Costa Rica 4-2.
This helped Spain to qualify for the knockout stage. Germany, however, were left out as they only finished third in the group.
It's not often that the fans are unhappy when a player of their club scores for their country. With Havertz depriving us of such an upset, however, some Chelsea fans were very unhappy.
