Emerson explains why he did not return to Chelsea from his Lyon loan

 loan in January but their attempts were unsuccessful. Lyon were not keen on letting the Italy international go mid-season. 

"I did not return to Chelsea because I promised [Lyon sporting director] Juninho that I would stay for a season," Emerson said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.

"I am a man of my word. I like being in Lyon, I want to be here. 

"For next season, hard to say because depends on the clubs but I’m happy here."

Chelsea ended up bringing back Kenedy from his loan spell in Brazil.

 and there is 'no expectation' of Emerson coming back before the window shuts.

Kennedy is pacey and is a direct replacement for Chillwell maybe he is waiting for Reece then play them together on the wingback positions

About a month. You still do not understand TT’s style about an incoming player/back-from-injury player. He takes a lotta time to integrate them in.

Detrimental you say? You have to consider who we are talking about here, it is Kennedy, not Joao Cancelo. Even he knows he’d be a backup, never a first choice. Let’s Even analyze the situation. Kennedy’s comeback was concluded on 31st January, and since then, Chelsea has played only 2 domestic matches; Plymouth and Crystal palace. The other 2 matches were CWC matches. Plymouth was on 5th February. So tell me, which match could he have played?

What I am saying is that at this point, fans shouldn’t lay hands on all angle to criticize the coach. Chelsea is a star-studded team. Even Alonso was on bench against palace. Werner hasn’t even played in a while. If he’d played Kennedy, people will still shade for something else.

So he should be thrown in? Lemme answer your question, it’s exactly 21 days since he arrived. Is that long enough for you? And if so, which match could he have played? Do you even know how many matches that has been played since then?

So with you asking me those petty questions you doubting my supporting of Chelsea. 
I am questioning the way he was bungled into a jet and he himself said he was surprised he didn't even have time to pack etc he had to leave because it was urgent.

No one’s doubting your support for CFC. He was rushed only because he was the last resort. Chelsea’s effort to land Lucas Digne failed, to bring back Palmeiras failed likewise and Chelsea were left with just 3 days to begin and finish the process of getting Kennedy, as a last resort. He knew himself he was never a first choice. He was going to be a backup.

Chelsea is a big club, and no club of such stature goes into a competition without options. His utterances about being rushed down to UK during interview were at best, irrelevant. He and his loaning club had an option to say no.

Let's agree to disagree because we will never see it the same way simple.

Kennedy can’t just be thrown in. He has to learn how we play and the tactics and up to the fitness of how the coaches want him. He can’t just be thrown in.
