Haaland, Kounde & more: 7 possible ins and outs for Chelsea in January with probability ratings

The January transfer window is just around the corner and with uncertainty in defence and injuries in midfield, Chelsea could find themselves bringing in reinforcements.

Here are the latest reports and the probability ratings:

INs

Erling Haaland: Chelsea have always been interested in Erling Haaland but the Blues have suffered setback after setback in their pursuit.

The latest blow comes from The Independent, who have reported that insiders are adamant the Norwegian will move to Bundesliga giants Bayern in the summer.

Chelsea spent big money on Romelu Lukaku and they will likely need to make the most of their already talented forward line instead of waiting around for the striker.

Probability rating: 0/10

Federico Chiesa: With Juventus struggling again in Serie A, rumours about talented winger Chiesa's departure are already swirling.

According to Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni, Thomas Tuchel is personally interested and has sanctioned a possible £84m move for the Italian.

While this one is quite unlikely, the 24-year-old would be a fantastic addition to Chelsea's forward line.

Probability rating: 1/10

Jules Kounde: The latest reports from the likes of Julien Laurens and ESPN suggest that Sevilla are willing to drop their asking price for Jules Kounde below £50m.

Chelsea and the player have both been interested in the move since the summer, so the likelihood of this one has increased considerably.

Probability rating: 5/10

Aurelien Tchouameni: The Monaco midfielder is a player Chelsea have a long-standing interest in and recent reports from Tuttosport and others have suggested that a £60m move could be in the offing.

However, Monaco's sporting director Paul Mitchell has recently revealed that Tchouameni will not be sold till the end of the season, so this one seems to be on the back-burner for now.

Probability rating: 2/10

OUTs

Christian Pulisic: The American has managed only 10 appearances for the Blues this season and speculation about a potential exit is rife.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo in Spain, Barcelona are aiming to land the youngster in January and they hope to get him on loan.

It's hard to see Thomas Tuchel letting such an exciting young prospect go in the middle of the season, but his current underperformance means the possibility does exist.

Probability rating: 2/10

Antonio Rudiger: According to talkSPORT, Rudiger has now gained a new suitor in Manchester United, with Ralf Rangnick keen on signing the German.

Rudiger's contract expires in about 6 months and Chelsea could cash in if they can get Kounde in January to ensure that the German doesn't leave for nothing.

It remains to be seen if Tuchel will allow a key player to leave mid-season but stranger things have happened!

Probability rating: 1/10

Ross Barkley: Barkley has seen his playing time increase thanks to injuries but that has coincided with Chelsea's slump in form.

The Englishman clearly isn't at the level the club need and once players return in January, is likely to be on his way out.

Latest reports suggest that Newcastle would be the main destination, but a return to Everton has also been touted.

Probability rating: 7/10
